01
Family Musikgarten
ages 0-5
The quintessential mommy-and-me (or grandma, aunt, daddy, uncle…) music class, Musikgarten family classes explore music through stories and poetry, songs, and games. Learning in this class is all play-based; everything seems like simple games, but it’s actually specifically designed to teach foundational musical concepts. Students use manipulatives and age-appropriate instruments to explore concepts of pitch and rhythm, recognize and sing major and minor chord and scale patterns, and identify and sing in simple and compound meter…but to them, it’s all play!

Music Makers at the Keyboard
ages 6-10
A wonderful way to start piano lessons in the most enjoyable, developmentally-friendly form possible! This method of teaching allows children to sing, play, and move as they learn, making learning an instrument truly a gentle art, and one done pleasantly with friends. The Music Makers program spans three years, during which time students learn how to read music, play by ear, harmonize melodies using primary triads, transpose melodies, and gain a strong understanding of functional theory as it relates to their pieces. Each class is an hour and 15 minutes long, with parents invited in for the last 15 minutes of each class to see what their children are learning and how best to help them at home.

Private Piano Lessons
ages 8-18
Our goal in teaching piano is to pass on a love for the instrument, joy in playing it, and the skills needed to complete challenging songs. We focus on a core repertoire of classical and sacred music, with additional emphasis on theory, technique, music history, and improvising (especially during the summer time, when we take a break from the one-on-one lessons and work together on these oft neglected areas of music!). Students perform in two recitals each year, and they have the opportunity to participate in the local level of the Florida Federation of Music Clubs events each February.
