Our goal in teaching piano is to pass on a love for the instrument, joy in playing it, and the skills needed to complete challenging songs. While we listen to students and allow them to choose some of their pieces, we focus on a core repertoire of classical and sacred music, with additional emphasis on theory, technique, and improvising (especially during the summer time, when we take a break from the one-on-one lessons and work together on these oft neglected areas of music!). Students perform in two recitals each year, one at the end of the school year and the other at Christmas time, and they have the opportunity to participate in the local level of the Florida Federation of Music Clubs events each February. Lessons are $105 a month for weekly half hour lessons, with some weeks having group performance classes or summer theory intensive classes in place of normal lessons, day and time TBD by the teacher and student.
